New Trier wins boys bowling title, Evanston's Krasinski wins individual championship. Also, gymnastics performances of note.

BOYS WRESTLING

Highland Park’s Mark Martinez (138) and Dmitry Derbedyenyev (152) each won titles at Leyden’s Randy Conrad Invitational. According to trackwrestling.com, Martinez in an unbeaten 19-0 this season.
Maine East’s best performer at the Conrad Invite was Luis Mendoza in 6th place. He won two matches by fall.
Vernon Hills’ Max Accettura was 2nd at 285 and Pedro Beccera earned 6th at 120.
At the Sycamore Invitational, Glenbrook South’s Patrick Downing (160) was the Titans’ top-placing individual, earning 2nd at 160 pounds. He won 2 matches by fall and 2 more by major decision. GBS took 5th out of 24 teams. Other top 7 finishers for GBS were Marcos Santos (7th), Andrew Haritos (7th), Anthony priests (5th), Alex Enkhbaatar (4th) and Max Brown (4th).
GIRLS WRESTLING
Clara Ugaz (132-136 weight class) won 3 matches to take 1st for Highland Park at Conant’s tournament last week. She picked up a victory by decision and 2 falls.
Evanston’s Natalie Graettinger also took 1st in her weight class (143-150), winning by fall in the first period of all three of her matches.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Some top performances
New Trier’s Ian Brown shot 8 of 9, 6 of 6 from 3 for 24 points in a win over Niles West.
Neel Patel scored 18 in a Maine East win over Addison Trail.
For Glenbrook North, Josh Fridman scored 24 points in a 65-57 victory over St. Ignatius.
Glenbrook North’s Ryan Cohen reached 1,000 career points.
Glenbrook South’s Gaven Marr scored 21 in a 63-48 win over Glenbrook North.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Some top performances
Niles North’s Brianna Bolt with 34 points, 14 rebounds in a 65-63 win over Latin.
McKenzie Reitmayer was a Player of The Game honoree in a 35-32 win over University High at the Grow The Game Shootout. Reitmayer also won POTG honors in an overtime win over Lane Tech.
Maine East’s Mariah Scott was a player of the game in a Grow The Game Shootout loss to Elk Grove.
New Trier’s Rachael Zacks won POTG honors in a win over Payton and a loss to St. Ignatius at the Grow The Game event.
Vernon Hills’ Grace Koepke scored 20 in a win over Niles North. In loss to Geneva at Grow The Game, Ava Barszcz took POTG honors with 12 points.
Deerfield’s Nikki Kerstein (23 points, 5 assists, 4 steals) won POTG honors in a win over Marist at Grow The Game. Aubrey Galvan scored 22 with 12 steals and 6 assists in the same game.
Niles West’s Mia Cejovic scored 15 in a win over Wheeling.
BOYS SWIM & DIVE
The Evanston Invitational was Saturday at ETHS.
New Trier placed 2nd as a team NT’s. Niles West (7th), Glenbrook South (8th) and Evanston (9th) were also top 10.
For the Trevians, Aiden Musick took top placing in the 100 fly (51.85 seconds), and also was 2nd in the 200 free.
Nikola Tadic led Niles West, scoring 37 of his team’s points with a 1st-place finish in the 50 free in 21.43 seconds and was 2nd in the 100 free in 47.87 seconds. For his efforts, he was named CSL Varsity Player of the Week.
Henry Chen’s 3rd-place finish in the 100 free led the Titans.
Lucas Macy led Evanston with 16 team points.
Highland Park’s Kevin Obochi set a new school record in the 200 IM (1:55.46) vs. Maine West.
During the same meet, which Highland Park won, Maine West’s Maxwell Blezien won the 200 free and 500 free.
GIRLS GYMNASTICS
Glenbrook North’s superior depth helped it to win the Chester Jones Invite at Evanston, as the Spartans edged second-place Glenbard North 137.050 to 136.360.
Izzy Gott’s 4th-place finish (35.550) in the all-around led all CSL competitors. Anna Bozarth took 6th in the all-around for the Spartans.
Glenbrook South, Maine South and Evanston took 5th, 6th and 7th, respectively.
Raelyn Robbins (33.525) took 8th to lead GBS and Anastasia Gritsonis earned 9th with a 32.825.
Vernon Hills was 2nd at the Straus Invitational,led by Livy Tran and Becca Tran, who places 1st and 2nd, respectively in the all-around.,
Deerfield was 7th and New Trier finished 11th.
