Maine South claimed a CSL South duel team title with a win over Glenbrook South Friday, 39-24. Here are the match-by-match results from the clinching Hawks victory.

GBS won duals over Carmel, Highland Park and Lake Zurich to up its duel record to 12-2.
GIRLS WRESTLING
Maine South and Maine East both competed at the Hawks Girls Wrestling Invite.
Eliana Badeen’s 5th place finish at 103 pounds was the top finish for the Blue Demons. She won 4 matches by fall.
Angela Lee, 19-1 per trackwrestling.com, earned 1st overall for Maine South at 115. Angelina Guanajuato took 3rd at 170 pounds.

BOYS BOWLING
New Trier brought home a regional title with 5,810 team pins as Charlie Hayden won the individual title with a 1,268 series.
Evanston’s Graham McKee was 2nd at the regional for the runner-up Wildkits. GBN joined NT and ETHS advancing as a team and Niles West advanced several individuals.
At the Libertyville regional, Vernon Hills advanced Zack Shoemaker and CJ Mendoza.

New Trier boys basketball coach Scott Fricke notched win No. 300 of his career as the Trevians defeated Maine South on Friday. The Trevians are still undefeated in conference.

GIRLS GYMNASTICS
Livy Tran of Vernon Hills was the top all-around finisher at Lake County Invite. For that effort, she is the CSL Varsity Newsletter Player Of The Week.
Talk about depth in a team effort. Maine South won the Niles North Nintendo Invite without any individuals finishing in the top 10 of the all-around scoring.
Anastasia Gritsonis was 1st in the vault and balance beam.
Other CSL winners of events were Susannah Bailey of Evanston in the uneven bars and Ella Eovaldi in the floor exercise. Evanston’s Tait Hansen took 2nd in the all-around. Hansen is the CSL Varsity Newsletter Fan Vote Player of The Week.
