GIRLS BASKETBALL
Glenbrook South started its season with a Mundelein HS Thanksgiving Tournament title while going 5-0. Sidney Rogers, Anna Rosenberger and Chloe Gonzalez each made the all-tournament team.
Glenbrook North and Vernon Hills have both started 3-0.
Deerfield is 3-0. In a 63-39 Warriors win over Schaumburg, Lexi Kerstein totaled 29 points, including 4 of 5 3-point shooting and added 8 rebounds. Deefield also defeated Downers Grove North and Wheaton Warrenville South.
New head coach to CSL girls basketball, Amanda Mistretta (Maine East) picked up her first win in charge, with the Blue Demons defeating Zion-Benton.
Highland Park went 3-2 at Mundelein’s tournament to start the season.
BOWLING
New Trier’s Charlie Hayden bowled a 300 series vs. Niles West. He has been named CSL Varsity Newsletter Player of the Week.
Evanston’s Augie Onmen bowled a 296 at the mustang Invitational Saturday.
Did You See?
Glenbrook South’s Jacque Gariepy (DL/TE) and Maine South’s Emmet Wolf (DL/LB) both earned all-state honors from the IHSFCA in Class 8A. Maine West’s Josh Emeka (DL) was honorable mention in 7A. Deerfield’s Vincent Sciarrone (RB) was an honorable mention choice in 6A.

Glenbrook South class of 2023 pitcher Drama Dupor committed to Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
Glenbrook North’s Chesline Ciota signed an NLI to dive at Ohio University.
GRAD CATCH-UPS
Evanston graduate Ray Gooden’s conttact will not be renewed with Northern Illinois University Athletics after a 21-year stretch as the women’s volleyball head coach. Gooden is the program’s winningest coach with a record of 357-295. He also recently won his 200th conference match.
Vernon Hills graduate Dan Lester was named CCIW Don Larson Co-Defensive Student-Athlete of the Year for the North Central Cougars. After Saturday’s win over Lake Forest College in the first round of the Division III playoffs, Lester had 77 tackles, 19.0 tackles for loss and 8.5 sacks.
Evanston grad Drew Dawkins threw for 235 yards and 4 touchdowns in a 49-12 Denison win over Kenyon. He finished his senior season with 22 passing scores and 1,977 yards through the air for the 8-2 Big Red.
Evanston graduate Lance Jones, he had a big 19 points in a road win over Oklahoma State on Nov. 10. he was averaging 13.8 point per game through the weekend.
