OF NOTE
Shorter newsletter this week. Took the chance to have an easy weekend and put this newsletter together relatively quickly.
#CSLStars for last week.
5-9 — Colin Roche, Glenbrook North baseball, tossed a 1-hit, 10K complete game with GBN in the thick of the conference title race.
5-10 — Jaclyn Riedl, Maine West girls track and field, won shot put (12.50m) and discus (37.26m) at the GBS sectional.
5-11 — N.J. Gott, Glenbrook North baseball, 9K no-hitter in win over Glenbrook South. Just some unreal pitching for the Spartans lately. Also, Luke Weber, Highland Park baseball, 12K 2-hitter in a CG shutout win over Deerfield.

BOYS WATER POLO
New Trier defeated Maine South 20-4 to win yet another sectional title. I covered the game for Journal & TopicsMedia, but also asked about Noah Wendt for the newsletter.
“We could probably leave the bench and have Noah coach. That’s how well he sees the bench and sees the field and knows the game. What he’s done exceptionally well this year is he’s communicating… and he’s allowing the other guys to step up and score those goals."
“He’s the assist leader. He’s a defensive guy. He’s a guy that has allowed guys like Hank (Woodman), who is sophomore to step up and score a lot of goals, Thomas (Dean) is scoring a lot of goals, because there’s that constant communication and trust that’s happening. That’s where he’s really filled in. He’s not (just) a leader on the stat sheet, he’s a leader in the water. He’s the general.”
