Introduction of a new feature called #CSLStar
The CSL Player of the Week award this week is shared between Annika Chuddy of Vernon Hills girls gymnastics and Nikki Kerstein of Deerfield girls basketball.Â
I forgot to do a Fan Vote Player of the Week, so did two Players of the Week.

Girls GymnasticsÂ
Vernon Hills blasted the field with a season-high team score of 147.625 at the CSL North Invite, winning the team title after winning the regular season title. Annika Chuddy, the all-around winner, shared CSL Varsity Player of The Week honors.Â

BOYS WRESTLING
Glenbrook South ended its regular season with a 37-36 win over 2A ranked Antioch.Â
GIRLS BASKETBALL
5 Performances of note
-Nikki Kerstein of Deerfield was on fire with 29 points, 9 rebounds and 4 steals in a win over Lake Forest. She also scored 16 vs. Nazareth and 17 vs. Niles North. She also garnered co-CSL Varsity Newsletter Player of The Week honors.Â
-Maine South’s Ally Pape had 16 points, 6 steals and 5 rebounds in a loss to Fremd.Â
-Grace Koepke scored 19 points for Vernon Hills in a loss to Barrington.Â
-Anna Rosenberger’s 16-point effort for Glenbrook South was big in a 36-35 home win over Loyola Academy.
-New Trier’s Rachael Zacks had 19 points and 4 rebounds in a loss to Glenbrook South.Â
New Trier also got Sela Klein back from an early-season injury, which should help the Trevians down the stretch of the season.Â
BOYS BASKETBALLÂ
New Trier defeated Glenbrook South 64-51 behind Jake Fiegen’s 30 points to cross the 20-win threshold and move to 6-1 in the CSL South. Games against Niles West, Evanston and Glenbrook North remain.Â
Fiegen reached 1,000 career points.Â
Evanston picked up a 64-58 home win over GBN behind 16 points from Jonah Ross. Josh Fridman scored 27 in the Spartan loss.Â
Deerfield picked up a huge win over Niles North, 55-53, with Quinn Schimanski scoring the winning bucket with 1.5 seconds left. Drew Rodgers and Jacob Cohn scored 13 apiece in the DH win.Â
Vernon Hills came from down 12 in the fourth quarter to force overtime and prevail 58-51 Friday at Highland Park. Milan Raval hit a pair of huge 4th-quarter 3-pointers on his way to 22 points, 9 rebounds.
Dylan Gaddi scored 25 points in an 87-67 Maine East win over Maine West.
BOYS BOWLING
Vernon Hills’ Zack Shoemaker took 32nd at state bowling, rolling g a two-day score of 2,517 over 12 games.
GIRLS BOWLING
Vernon Hills won the CSL Invite after finishing second in the regular season.
New Trier won the regular season championship. Vicky Hughes and Ari Fabes led the way.Â
