CSL Varsity: Maine South, GBS, Niles West Win Holiday Tourneys
Deerfield's Aiden Cohen POTW; Maine South's Meegan Fahy Fan Vote POTW.
Maine South’s Meegan Fahy had an exemplary run at the Komromy Tournament. Deerfield wrestling’s Aiden Cohen was unbeatable at DeKalb’s Flavin dual tourney.
They both take home honors with Cohen earning Player of the Week and Fahy earning the fan vote victory with 57% of the 376 votes.

Tournament winners
Maine South - Dundee-Crown’s Komromy Tournament - Defeated Barrington in the final.
Fan vote player of the week Meegan Fahy averaged 19 points, 5 steals and 2 assists in the tourney.
Glenbrook South - Claimed the Bill Neibch Tournament title for the second straight season.
Tournament MVP Sidney Rogers also reached 1,000 points for her career.
Deerfield’s Lexi Kerstein crossed 1,500 points for her career.
New Trier’s Rachael Zacks scored 24 in a 48-35 win over Maine West.
GBN’s Jami De Guzman totaled 37 points during the Blenner Classic, most for the Spartans over four games.
Boys Basketball
Tournament winner
Niles West - Maine East Varsity Basketball Holiday Tournament - Wolves defeated Maine East 74-73 in double-overtime.
Davee Flowers scored 32 in the semifinal win over Leyden. Joey pantazis put up 24 points in the championship wi over the Blue Demons.
GBN fell for the first time the season, doing so in the Wheeling Hardwood Classic final to Libertyville, 64-59.
Vernon Hills’ Milan Raval reached 1,000 career points.
Maine South reached 1,000 victories in program history with a 52-40 win over Willowbrook.
Boys Swim & Dive
Highland Park won its home Don Davis Spring Pentathlon.
Kevin Obochi won 5 golds, taking first in the 50 fly, 50 breast, 50 free, 50 back and 150 free.
Boys Wrestling
Deerfield competed in DeKalb’s notorious Flavin dual team tourney and finished with a 3-3 team record. Renzo Morgan went 6-0 at 132 and Aiden Cohen went 6-0 at 170/182.
Morgan and Cohen also both won titles at the Harlem tournament, so Cohen earns POTW honors.
Evanston’s Jason McDermott took a 2nd-place finish at the Wheaton Warrenville South tourney.
Girls Wrestling
Ashland Henson’s 3rd-place finish at 190 pounds was tops for Evanston at Palatine’s Sally Berman Invite.
