138-pound winner from Highland Park Mark Martinez is the CSL Player Of The Week and took CSL North outstanding wrestler honors from the meet. Glenbrook South’s Patrick Downing was outstanding wrestler for the CSL South.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Maine South took control in the CSL South race with a 61-52 road win at GBS to move to 7-1 in the South. The win was its 16th in a row. The Hawks then had their win streak snapped Saturday vs. York, 50-42. The Titans are 6-2 in the South.

Glenbrook South’s Gina Davorija has been on a hot run as of late and scored 22 points with 6 rebounds and 3 steals in a 56-42 win over
Niles North avenged a loss to Highland Park with a 55-47 victory over the Giants on the road Friday. Brianna Bolt scored 16, Sierra Stevens had `15 points, 5 steals, 4 rebounds and 3 assists.
Deerfield is now 8-0 in the conference, 19-4 overall and on a 6-game win streak.
Vernon Hills notched a big 49-40 win over Maine West in which Grace Koepke scored 21 points and Jaclyn Reidl scored 15 for the Warriors.
Rachael Zacks scored 19 in a 49-31 New Trier win over Glenbrook North. The Trevians shot 19 of 38 from the floor in the win and held the Spartans to 12 of 48 shooting.
Niles West’s Trisha Cirineo scored 16 points with 4 rebounds in a 54-42 win over Niles North.
The Record North shore did a story on Highland Park ‘s 3-year trajectory.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Niles North is still unbeaten in the CSL North after defeating Highland Park 59-41 this week. The Vikings are now 18-4, 7-0 in the CSL North.
Glenbrook North put up a big scoring day with 5 players scoring in double-figures in a 92-44 win over Yorkville Christian.
Rodell Davis hit 6 3-pointers and scored 24 points in an 85-52 Glenbrook South win over Leo.
Vernon Hills scored 40 points in the second half of a 65-44 win over Maine West.
BOYS SWIM & DIVE
GBN beat Evanston during the week and took 2nd at the SCN Varsity Invite on Saturday. At SCN, Jake Walter took 2nd in the 50 free and 100 free.

In 3A, Maine South won the Warren Sectional, Glenbrook South earned 2nd and New Trier advanced to state for the first time in program history when it took 6th.
In 2A, Deerfield and Vernon Hills took 4th and 5th, respectively to advance to state from the Warren Sectional.
GIRLS BOWLING
New Trier defeated Evanston to improve to 9-2, led by Madeline Blake’s 564 series.
Grace Funke had the high game (213) and high series (599) in a Vernon Hills win over Deerfield.
BOYS BOWLING
State Qualifiers: Glenbrook North qualified as a team with a score of 6,238, runner-up at the IC Catholic Sectional to Reavis. Evanston was 7th and New Trier took 9th.
Kai Nitzschke’s score of 1,389 for 3rd place led the Spartans.
Vernon Hills’ Zack Shoemaker advanced from the Rockford Guilford Sectional with a 1,299 series.

GRAD CATCHUPS
Niles West graduate Sam Burns is off to a hot start as a freshman in the high hurdles at Western Colorado. Gomountaineers.com’s Brandon Warr wrote the following about Burns:
Sam Burns not only earned an NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the men's 60m hurdles, crossing the finish line in 8.18-seconds – which earned him second-place - he also moved up to fifth all-time.
Deerfield graduate Henry Boudreau is off to a strong start this winter season for Notre Dame track and field. He had consecutive PRs at the Irish’s home meet.
Maine East graduate Mahima Chokshi is averaging 8.4 points per game as a freshman at the Milwaukee School Of Engineering.
