CSLV: Basketball Begins, Grad Catchups Of Note
Handful of CLSV players named all-state in football.
OF NOTE
The following were named #CSLStar honorees for the past week.
11-13 — McKenzie and Maddie Reitmayer, Highland Park girls basketball, combined for 40 points in a Highland Park win over Grayslake North.
11-14 — Gina Davorija, Glenbrook South girls basketball, 19 points, 7 rebounds, 2 steals, 2 blocks in win over Oswego East.
11-15 — Meegan Fahy, Maine South girls basketball, 17 points, 6 steals in win over Hersey.
11-16 — CJ Mendoza, Vernon Hills boys bowling, recorded a 300 game in a win over Evanston.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Niles West took 2nd at Mundelein’s season-opening tournament, defeating Regina Dominican, Highland Park and lost to Grant.

Some top performances:
Maine East’s Mariah Scott tallied 20 points, 10 rebounds and 7 steals in a 47-26 victory vs. Round Lake.
Highland Park’s McKenzie and Maddison Reitmayer combined for 40 points in a season-opening 56-34 win over Mundelein.
Gina Davorija had 22 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists in a 58-40 GBS win over Mundelein.
Meegan Fahy scored 17 points with 6 steal in a 61-42 win over Hersey.
Kailey Starks of Evanston put up 18 points, 10 rebounds and 6 steals in a win over Buffalo Grove.
Evanston’s Zuri Ransom scored 21 in a loss to Bolingbrook.
GRAD CATCH-UPS
New Trier graduate Aidan Crawford, a sophomore for Loyola men’s soccer, was named Atlantic 10 Goalkeeper Of The Year.
Glenbrook North graduate Nick Mantas was a 1st-team all-conference player for Carroll. Per the release on the Pioneers’ site:
“Carroll's lone player on the All-CCIW First Team Defense is Mantas, who had a career year for the Pios. The senior from Northbrook, Ill. tied for the league lead in sacks with nine, while also ranking fifth in the CCIW with 13 tackles for loss. His 33 tackles were fifth on the team this season, while also recording four quarterback hurries and one forced fumble.”
Evanston graduate Nojel Eastern is off to agood start with the Iowa Wolves of the NBA G League.
Evanston grad Naquan Jones, previously with the Tennessee Titans, signed to the practice squad with the Arizona Cardinals.
Niles West graduate Sam Galanopolous scored a career-high 27 points in a 67-62 win over Bradley.
