CSLV: GBN 5th at Badminton State; Trevians and Wolves Win Conference Track & Field Titles
New Trier baseball keeps winning. Maine West ends Vernon Hills' North softball dominance.

BADMINTON STATE TOP PERFORMERS
Glenbrook North was the top finishing CSL school, taking 5th.
Allison Endres went 4-2 in singles
Emma Yin was 2-2 in singles
Anna Choi & Juliette Zhou finished 2-2 in doubles
Sydney Stachovic & Vivian Zhao were 4-2
Evanston’s best finishers were Arnie Gopez & Delcy Garfield, who went 3-2 in doubles.Â
GBS’ best finish came from Kenya Patel and Saya Patel who went 3-2 in doubles.Â
Maine South’s singles competitions Anna Leudeva and Jillian Rothenberger each went 3-2.Â
Madison Liu of New Trier went 3-2. The doubles pairs of Kelsea Banh/Elizabeth Dabiza and Raina Patel/Tess Trieu each went 4-2.Â
Vernon Hills’ Neha Kulkarni finished 4-2 and the doubles duo of Diya Ragan/Lasya Kancharla-Chowdry were 3-2.Â
Deerfield’s Esther Kim went 2-2.Â
BOYS GYMNASTICSÂ
Evanston brought home a 2nd-place team finish at the IHSGCA state meet with 150.70 team points, finishing behind only Wheaton Co-Op.Â
Erik Van Leer finished 2nd in the all-around (54.40) and was the state champion in the vault (9.45).
Wildkit Mo Frischer was 11th in the all-around and teammate Jacob Potter was 14th.Â
Glenbrook South’s David Kim took 17th in the all-around.Â

Niles West graduate and current Oakton Community College women’s golfer Irene Metaxas committed to Clarke University for golf.Â
GBN graduate Spencer Geake (2023) will attend Harper College and play baseball.Â
New Trier graduate Nevan Cremascoli announced his intention to transfer from Northern Illinois for South Dakota for football.Â
Deerfield graduate Sam Liokumovich finished 3rd in shot put at the final Pac-12 Men’s track and field championships.Â

Highland Park won the CSL North boys tennis championship.Â
New Trier won the CSL South boys tennis title. Evanston’s Finn Pollard was the No. 1 singles champ, defeating New Trier’s Chris Adelman 6-2, 6-2 in the final.Â
Maine West has hired Adam York as its varsity boys tennis coach.Â
As of Sunday, New Trier baseball had won 20 consecutive games, is 13-0 in the CSL and has clinched the CSL South title.Â
Evanston’s girls water polo team claimed a sectional championship with an 8-2 win over New Trier.Â
New Trier won a sectional title in boys water polo by defeating Maine South 15-3.Â
Maine West softball ended Vernon Hills’ streak of 6 consecutive CSL North titles, finishing the CSL North slate 8-0. The Warriors were 17-3 after the weekend.
Vernon Hills boy volleyball’s Ben Miller smashed 27 kills in a 3-set loss to GBS and set the school record for kills in a season with 333.Â
Glenbrook South baseball’s John Meier allowed 1 hit and 0 runs over 5 innings as the Titans defeated GBN 1-0.Â
Niles West’s Sophia Holtzman committed to Florida Gulf Coast for women’s soccer.Â
Maine East’s Timo Kate committed to Illinois Central College for football.Â
