12-12 — Jordin Gibson, Evanston girls bowling, high series of 603 and high game of 223 in a win over Deerfield.
12-13 — Giorgi Solorio-Alvarez, Vernon Hills boys wrestling, 2 first-period pins as the Cougars won 2 duals.
12-14— Ian Brown, New Trier boys basketball, 24 points, 12 rebounds in a win over Gilbert Christian of Arizona.Â
12-15 — Aidin Custovic, Niles West boys basketball, 30 points and 9 rebounds in a win over Maine East.
RECORD ALERT
Highland Park boys swim & dive’s Noam Kulbak broke his own pool record in the dive with a score of 376.95.
GIRLS GYMNASTICS
New Trier claimed its home Holliday Invite title with a team score of 142.300, led by Taylor Kim’s all-around score of 35.850. Kim was 2nd in the vault and 3rd in the bars. The Trevians’ Annabel Sturgis won the bars with a 9.425.
Maine South was 8th as a team, with Anastasia Gritsonis, who tied for 3rd in the vault, earning 12th in the all-around.Â
Vernon Hills won a dual with Niles West 137.40 to 110.25. Mya Brusso won the all-around for the Cougars with a 36.350. She won the vault (9.40) and was 2nd in the bars, beam and floor exercise.Â
Maine West defeated Maine East 106.650 to 94.550. Madison Story won the all-around with her score of 28.950.
GIRLS WRESTLINGÂ
Highland Park’s Clara Ugaz won 3 matches in a scramble at Harvard High School.

BOYS WRESTLING
Deerfield’s Luke Reddy (1st at 132), Charlie Cross (2nd at 150) and Adrian Cohen (2nd at 120) were top performers for the Warriors as Deerfield placed 3rd at the Run Erb Tournament at GBS. The Warriors posted 143.5 team points. Batavia took home the title with 161.5 points.Â
Evanston’s Jeremy Marshall (285) was 2nd at the Run Erb invite.Â
Max Brown (132) took 2nd for Glenbrook South at the Run Erb.Â
Niles North’s top finish came from Oliver Quiros in 3rd at 150.Â
Highland Park’s Dmitry Derbedyenyev took 1st at 165 pounds at Niles West’s Robert E. Porter Tournament.Â
Vernon Hills’ Ilya Dvoriannikov and Jack McGowean each won their weight class at Harvard’s tourney as the Cougars placed 5th of 14 teams.Â

Maine South’s Dominic Mazurek cleaned up with 4 golds in a dual with Niles North. Mazurek won in 2 relays, as well as the 200 individual medley and 100 free. The Vikings’ Ryan Nguyen took the 50 free and 100 fly. Full results here.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Maine South had a whirlwind of a week, defeating Kenwood, Wheaton Warrenville South and Evanston to improve to 13-0.Â
The win over Kenwood came in controversial fashion as Hawks star Meegan Fahy appeared to put up the winning basket just after the final buzzer sounded.Â
Fahy went on to score 23 in a 64-53 overtime win over Evanston after the Kenwood win. That pushed her past 1,000 career points.Â

2020 Maine South graduate Greta Miller is averaging 11.2 ppg and 7.7 rpg for 8-1 Johns Hopkins women’s basketball, which recently breached the top 25 in the NCAA Division III (D3Hoops) poll.Â
2022 Maine East graduate Yaser Alawadi, formerly at Western Illinois, has verbally committed to transfer to Ball State.
