CSLV: Gymnastics State, Boys Wrestling, Boys Swim & Dive Postseason Notes
Maine South's Flores and Vernon Hills' Annika Chudy earn state championship nods.

For the week of Feb. 4-10:
The CSLV Team of the Week via the fan poll on X/Twitter was Glenbrook North girls gymnastics, which qualified for state for the first time in 44 years.
The CSLV Fan Vote Athlete of the Week was Teddy Flores, who was a sectional champion at the Conant Sectional.
BOYS WRESTLING
Teddy Flores brought home Maine South’s first state championship since 1968, defeating Joliet Catholic’s Jason Hampton by 6-5 decision to take the 120-pound weight class.
Tyler Fortis won 3 straight matches after losing his opening match, and took 5th in the state at 285.
Vernon Hills’ Ilia Dvorrianikov earned a 2nd-place finish, winning 3 matches by decision before falling to Nick Mueller of Dunlap by 4-2 decision.

GIRLS GYMNASTICS
Vernon Hills grabbed 5th as a team with a team score of 143.825 at the state meet in Palatine. Glenbrook North (6th, 142.2000) and New Trier (7th, 140.3500) helped round out a strong CSL showing.
All-Around standings
Annika Chudy grabbed the victory in the floor exercise with a 9.6750 and was 2nd in the all-around (37.7500) and was 2nd in the bars (9.5250), and 6th in the vault (9.5250).
The Cougars’ Livy Tran was 7th in the all-around (36.9500), 5th in the vault (9.5500) and 8th in the beam (9.1000) and Mya Brusso was 13th (36.3000).
Glenbrook South’s Allie Mietus grabbed 10th in the all-around (36.7500) and 10th in the bars (8.6500)
New Trier’s Clara Crossgrove was 3rd in the bars (9.4500) and 15th in the all-around.
Maine South’s Anastasia Gritsonis came back to Park Ridge with 4th in the beam (9.3750)

Maine South - Defeated Lane Tech 58-31 to win its 30th game.
Glenbrook North - Can claim the mantle of “regional champs” for the first time in 31 years after a 62-52 defeat of Evanston.
New Trier - Beat Glenbrook South 34-32 in the regional finals.
Season comes to an end:
Vernon Hills - Fell 46-43 to Resurrection in regional final.
Highland Park - Was defeated by Taft 48-45 in the regional semis.
Niles West - Lost to Glenbrook North 64-38 in the regional semis.
Niles North - Fell to Evanston 69-28.

Evanston ended its season in 22nd at the state meet, the best finish in program history.
GRAD CATCHUPS
Evanston graduate Josie Lambert was named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week for Davidson College women’s lacrosse. The junior has 11 goals and 3 assists through 3 games.
