9-5 — Andrew Babos and Nicholas Biank of Deerfield boys soccer netted 2 goals apiece in a win over Maine West.
9-7 — Hunter Whitney, Deerfield boys golf, shot a 35 and took medalist honors in a Warriors win over Evanston.
FOOTBALL
VICTORIOUS
Maine West’s defense was critical in a 12-6 home win over Schaumburg.
Ben Cooper had 12 tackles, 1 INT, 4 catches for 104 yards in another excellent defessnive showing for the Warrior. Maine West had 3 INTs as a squad.
Maine South snatched victory from a game Palatine squad, 28-21. Samuel Cooper had a late interception to help seal the win for the Hawks.
Highland Park came from 2 separate 14-point deficits (14-0, 21-7), to defeat Rolling Meadows 42-35. David Finfer accounted for 340 passing, 140 rushing, 2 TDs passing and rushing each, while Johnny Walker returned a kickoff for a touchdown, had 128 receiving yards and a scoring reception.
Deerfield’s impressive 42-26 CSL-MSL Crossover win over Conant opened some eyes.
Davone Robinson Jr.’s pick-6 led Niles North to a 10-2 victory over Wheeling.

New Trier led by 10 but couldn’t hold on in a 24-20 loss to Prospect.
Glenbrook South’s murderer’s row schedule continued in a 27-19 Titans loss to Barrington.

Buffalo Grove defeated Vernon Hills 62-14.
Hoffman Estates defeated Niles West 40-3.

GIRLS SWIM & DIVE
Deemed “The Tri Meet of the Century,” New Trier competed with Saint Ignatius and Stevenson at the latter’s home. The Trevians took 2nd, with Lila Novelline recording her squad’s top NISCA score of 129.0 with her diving score of 233.25. Zara Bolton won the 100 fly in 57.14

GBN was 3rd at the Fremd Invite.
Maine South swept Hersey 7-0, defeated Maine East 4-0 and bested Evanston 4-3. They also defeated Libertyville and Lake Zurich. The Hawks lost to York 4-3 and took 2nd at the BG Invite.
GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
Niles West brought home 3rd and Deerfield was 6th at the Niles West Invite.
BOYS SOCCER
Evanston’s Cristiano Hamer, the defending CSL Varsity Fan Vote Player of the Week, recorded consecutive hat tricks in wins over Maine East and (defending state champs) Naperville Central.
After a 2-1 win over Brother Rice in the BodyArmor Series, Niles North got to dunk assistant coach Ivane in a tank of water.
BOYS GOLF
Glenbrook South was the best CSL squad out of 5 conference squads at the Twin Orchard Invitational, shooting a 303 as a unit to take 4th, 11 shots behind 1st place Barrington (292). Maine South took 5th, New Trier was 6th and Evanston was 7th.
Will Wagener of Evanston tied for 2nd with a 72 and Anthony Neumayer tied for 4th for Maine South.
GIRLS GOLF
Anna Lee’s 2nd-place 76 led Vernon Hills at its home Cougar Classic as VH earned 3rd as a team.

BOYS CROSS COUNTRY
New Trier was 4th as a team and Highland Park was 5th in a loaded field at First to The Finish at Detweiler Park. Ben Crane was 2nd overall in 14:25.30. Other top performers from the CSL were Nate Wehner (HP, 6th), Ari Elmayan (NN, 14th), Atticus Miller (NT, 18th), Charles Blackmer (VH, 21st).
John Ihrke tied a school record, per the GBN Cross Country Twitter/X account, with a time of 14:59 in earning 4th at the Lake Park Invite.
GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY
Evanston’s Stella Davis took 6th in a field of over 300 runners at First to The Finish at Detweiler Park. Anna Lester of Vernon Hills was 7th. Josie Cahill was tops for New Trier in 23rd.
Maria Polyakov was 7th at the Lake Park Invite for GBN.

GRAD CATCH-UPS
Evanston graduate Brealyn Viamille has started all 7 games for Florida International University’s women’s soccer team. She has a goal, 2 assists and 9 shots thus far for the 5-1-1 Panthers.
