CSLV Newsletter Holiday Edition: A Baker's Dozen Notes
13 notes for the past week of CSL athletics. Sarkissian and Espinoza bring Blue Demons a victory.

13 NOTES FOR THE HOLIDAYS
1. Fallon With Strong Day
New Trier boys bowling defeated Vernon Hills 3,640 to 3,459.
The Trevians’ Andy Fallon had the best game (259) and series (720) of the matchup. Chin had a 629 (high game 236) for the Cougars. Vernon Hills was led by Shoemaker’s score of 653 (high game of 237). The Cougars beat Evanston last week.
2. Signing Day
National Signing Day for Football for the early period was Wednesday with the signing period extending through Friday. To see some of who signed, check out my Twitter from Wednesday, Dec. 21. You’ll see names like Sam Taglia, Luke Pollack and others.
3. Titans With Strong Road Win
Glenbrook South grabbed a nice win on the road, beating Lake Forest 62-57 behind a 25-point effort from Nick Taylor. The Titans entered the holiday break with a 9-3 record.

4.Franklin’s Time Has Come
2018 Niles North graduate Damaria Franklin was ruled eligible by the NCAA and began playing for Memphis men’s basketball. Franklin most recently played at UIC, after stints at Tennessee Tech and State Fair Community College. He’s averaging 8.3 points and 5.0 rebounds through his three games so far with the Tigers.

5.CSL Alums Thriving For Forresters
Lake Forest College men’s basketball has several CSL alums on the team this year, including:
Elijah Bull, So., Evanston - Averaging 9.6 points, 3.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 1.4 steals
Frank Siegien, Sr. Glenbrook North - Averaging 10.8 points, 3.8 rebounds
6. How Bout the Spartans?
Glenbrook North’s win over a week ago was memorable for the program.

9. Trevians Rule Rivalry Night
New Trier girls and boys hoops teams knocked off Evanston on Thursday at Welsh-Ryan Arena, the boys doing so 42-36 and the girls knocking off an ill and injured Wildkits team 51-32. The Trevian girls have been playing some JV players up to fill some spots as well and are battling their own injury woes.


10. Adam Jablonski Remembered With Ceremony
Also Kathy Catanzaro washonored for her years of service to the school.

11. Budnik Making It Big
Highland Park graduate Addie Budnik, now a Richmond Spider, scored a career-high 28 points, and added 7 rebounds, 4 blocks, 2 assists and 2 steals in a win over Tarleton State. 1
12. Nambo Honored
Vernon Hills’ Valde Nambo went into his school’s Wall of Fame for soccer.
13. Demons Vault Over Warriors
Maine East claimed victory over Maine West in gymnastics 117.15 to 107.30.
Megan Espinoza’s score of 31.00 garnered her the all-around title for the Blue Demons.
Espinoza won the balance beam and uneven bars (both 7.50). Arbella Sarkissian took the vault (8.55) and floor exercise (8.20).
Maine West’s Lilly Bain was 3rd in the all-around with a score of 29.35. She took 2nd in the vault.
