BOYS TENNIS
A late addition, but Highland Park’s Evan Glebov and Blake Gold won the doubles title at the Prospect Invite on April 15.

BOYS TRACK AND FIELD
Glenbrook South won Niles North’s Dan Horyn Invite with 94 team points, 13 better than the 3-team hodgepodge that tied for runner-up.
CSL winners from invite included Doug Anderson of Highland Park (200, 400, 4x400 which also had Robert Oboza, Zach Coren and Noah Jackson), HP’s Jackson (800), HP’s Larry Jenkins (shot put), Deerfield’s Jeffery Lefkovitz (discus), Niles West’s Chris Rodriguez (110 hurdles) and Aden Kim (pole vault), Ryan Schaefer of GBS (300 hurdles, high jump, long jump).
Evanston won the Red Grange Invitational, winning 3 events and finishing with a team score of 184 to 2nd-place York’s 138.
New Trier’s Aiden Corboy had an exemplary performance at Minooka, recording leap of 6.73m in the long jump and 12.70 in the triple jump, taking 3rd and 2nd in each event.
GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD
Maine West took 2nd as a team at GBS’ invite, led by Jaclyn Reidl taking 1st in shot put (12.08m) 2nd in discus (36.40m) and Amelie Mach taking the long jump (5.03m and 300 hurdles in 46.69, 100 hurdles 16.14).
Nora Brown of Maine West (pole vault), also won.
At Wauconda’s invite, some notable performances.
Deerfield freshman Olivia Brown won the 1,600 in 5:38.97 and Isabelle Carpenter was over 5 meters better than anyone else in the field with the No. 2 discus mark in program history (34.17m).
Maine East’s Dannika Olea took 2nd in the shot put, hoisting the implement 9.13m.
GIRLS SOCCER
Evanston girls soccer continues to be among the more dominant squads in the state, moving to 11-1-1 and outscored CSL opponents 9-1 this past week.
Maine West pulled out a big 3-2 victory over Vernon Hills
New Trier blanked a strong Maine South squad 3-0 and Nora Westol had a hat trick in a win over Fenwick.
BOYS GYMNASTICS
Evanston finished the CSL season unbeaten. The Wildkits also won Niles North’s Invite on Saturday with a team score of 143.25.

BOYS WATER POLO
Evanston won the GBS tourney by wining matches against GBS, Hersey, Lake Forest and St. Charles North, the latter 6-3
Maine South nabbed a solid 14-10 win over Maine East.

GIRLS WATER POLO
GBN went 2-1 at its home tourney with wins over Lake Forest and Lincoln-Way West.
Maine West went 2-1 against strong competition in the Naperville North tourney, defeating Hinsdale Central and Lincoln-Way Central.
BADMINTON
Glenbrook North keeps rolling, handing New Trier a 17-1 defeat and Schaumurg a 14-1 drubbing.
BOYS VOLLEYBALL
Glenbrook South moved to 17-1 in winning the Richard Griesheim Invitational Saturday at Downers Grove South. Chance Shampine was on fire with 24 kills in a victory over OPRF to win the title.
The Titans also avenged their lone loss to New Trier.
Niles North won the Grayslake North Invite and is now 19-3.
Vernon Hills moved to 5-0 in the CSL North with a 25-11, 25-17 win over Maine West and also defeated Deerfield.
In the win over Deerfield, David Rzepa had 8 kills, 5 blocks and 4 digs.
BASEBALL
Evanston grabbed 2 wins over New Trier (6-0, 7-5), led by a combined pitching effort of Hank Liss Eron Vega and Noah Cryns. The Wildkits improved to a conference-best 17-2 and 5-0 in the CSL South (New Trier is 12-3)
The CSL North will look to pick things up in the coming weeks as the North side of the conference does not have a team with a winning record currently. Deerfield at 6-10 stands the best chance to change that soon.
The Warriors’ Mac Jones fanned 12 batters in a 12-4 win over Vernon Hills.
Maine West’s Ethan Cusack went 2 for 3 with a triple and 4 RBIs in a 13-1 rivalry game win over Maine East.
David Finfer was 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs and a run scored as Highland Park defeated Niles West 6-2.
SOFTBALL
The highlight of the week is without a doubt Christina Korompilas’ walk-off grand slam in a 14-11 win over Evanston in 10 innings. That moved GBS to 3-0 in the CSL South.
It was not the lone walk-off of the week, as Glenbrook North handed New Trier a 10-9 defeat with Izzy Gott scoring the winning run on a day she went 3 for 4 with 4 runs
Niles West’s pitching of Maggie Burns and Lesley Mueller led the Wolves to 3 wins this past week.
Mack Bickhaus’ big game, including a homer, helped bring the Wolves a 10-4 victory over Maine South.
Vernon Hills’ Izzy Loiben had 2 triples, a double and 6 RBIs in a 19-1 win over Deerfield-Highland Park.
BOYS LACROSSE
New Trier defeated Glenbrook North 15-4, led by 3 goals from Hans Huber.
GIRLS LACROSSE
New Trier is unbeaten in CSL play, while Evanston and Deerfield are each 2-1 in conference.
Addie Shevitz leads the CSL in goals, per maxpreps, with 28.
With a 5-4 record, Glenbrook North is being led by Rachael Rizzi’s 27 goals.
Deerfield’s Samara Braunstein has 26.
Vernon Hills is led by Lizzy Eitel’s 15 goals.
The top ground ball leader in the CSL (per MaxPreps) is Maine South’s Kaitlyn Goff with 43.
The most assists recorded for a CSL team on MaxPreps is New Trier’s Clair Ratke with 18.
RECORD ALERT
Glenbrook North’s John Ihrke set a school 800m record of 1:55.72 at Palatine’s Distance Night. He finished second in the event.
Highland Park boys track and field’s Doug Anderson broke the school record in the 400 meters (49.54) at Niles North on Friday.
GRAD CATCH-UPS
Deerfield graduate Emily Casati is wrapping up her tennis career at Illinois. She’s played a good deal of No. 2 and No. 3 doubles for the Illini this season.

Evanston grad Molly Chambers has a season E.R.A. of 3.28 with a record of 5-2 in 49 innings pitches for Princeton softball.
New Trier grad Charlie Siebert set a Davidson College record on Friday with a time of 29:24.74 in the 10,000 meter race.He also owns the school record in the 5000 meters, set in an invite at Duke on April 8.
Evanston grad Drew Patterson, a women’s track and field athlete at College of Wooster, won the high jump at the all-Ohio track meet (5’4.25 feet).
Her brother Davis, competing for Wooster’s men, placed 2nd at the meet in the pole vault with a personal best mark of 15’3’’, which is now 4th best in the program’s history.

For the boys, swimmer Nikola Tadic took home the honor. For the girls, 3-sport star Mia Cejovic (volleyball, basketball, soccer), earned the distinction.
Retiring Highland Park swim coach Tim Sirois was named State of Illinois Boys Swim Coach of The Year.
