CSLV: Trevians State Tennis Champs; Football Playoffs; Cross Country & Soccer Notes
The home stretch of fall sports is upon us.

I never found the time to write up a post honoring last week’s CSLV Superlative winners for performances from Oct. 8-14.
Anna Lester, VH girls cross country was CSLV Fan Vote Player of The Week after winning a CSL individual and team title.
Constantine Coines, Maine South football, was CSLV Football Fan Vote Player of The Week Coines, Maine South, 5 passing TD, 2 rushing TD, 359 all-purpose vs. Deerfield.
The CSLV Fan Vote Team of the Week was Maine South girls tennis, which won a sectional title led by Amelia Stanek, Ella Raseta and Emma Military.

The New Trier Trevians are Class 2A state champs!Â
Keri Rothenberg and Ariane Lesterhuis came home with the state doubles 1st place trophy.Â
Madison Liu took 2nd in the state in singles and won the 2A Sportsmanship Award.
Doubles pair Coco Zabel and Julia Ludwig earned 6th.
The Trevians had 35 team points to runner-up Stevenson’s 20. New Trier had the championship wrapped up well before the competition was completed.Â
Deerfield, led by doubles pair Val Bellagamba/Liza Gleyzer and singles 4th place finisher Abigail Lee took 3rd as a team, GBN was 5th and GBS took 11th.Â

Longtime New Trier coach Mike Napoleon is retiring from football, stepping away from his role as offensive coordinator for the varsity football team. For those of course wondering does this mean an end to his run as baseball coach, that’s a negative. He remains in his role in a quest for 1,000 wins.

Niles West won the outright CSL North title and finished 10-0 in the division.
New Trier went 10-0 in the South to claim its divisional title outright.

Glenbrook North’s Ian Lee notched both goals in a 2-1 victory vs. Barrington to win a regional title.Â
Evanston defeated Maine South 5-3 to win a regional title.Â
New Trier beat Taft in PKs 4-2 (after being tied 1-1 through 2 OT periods).Â
The Wildkits and Trevians will square off in a sectional semifinal on Tuesday in Evanston.Â

Congrats to New Trier wrestling coach Marc Tadelman, who won a bronze medal at the USA Wrestling at the Veterans World Championships in Loutraki, Greece.Â
Glenbrook South won the first CSL Girls Flag Football championship, winning a tournament that culminated on their home field with a 13-12 decision in their favor over Maine South. The Titans will now play in the state tournament.
New Trier Class of 2024 wide receiver Miles Cremascoli verbally committed to Ohio University for football.Â
Maine East Class of 2024 baseball player Jalen Moraga committed to Quincy University for baseball.Â
