Evanston's Liss Discusses Belmont Commitment, Wildkits Baseball
"He’s everything you want in a pitcher.”
Hank Liss has been a top-end starter for the Evanston Wildkits for several seasons. That success has not gone unnoticed by collegiate scouts.
On Oct. 4, the multi-sport athlete (baseball and football), committed to Belmont University in Nashville to play collegiately on the diamond.
Liss said he felt that the coaches at Belmont really wanted him to join the program, and that a combination of the facilities, coaches and program success were all appealing factors that led to his decision.
Add that all in with the allure of Nashville itself, and the decision was an enthusiastic one.
“The city is amazing. Nashville is a place I see myself in the future and looking forward to living there for the next four years as a huge country music fan,” Less said. “The campus was beautiful, has everything I need there to be successful as a student, only having around 6,000 students instead of a huge big 10 campus I feel like I can really focus on what’s important, grades and being a better athlete.”
Liss locks in in a way that allows him to bear down in big moments.
“He’s not going to beat himself,” Evanston baseball coach Frank Consiglio said. “If he gets beat, you’re going to have to do it. He’s everything you want in a pitcher.”
